Organization Information
The National Electrical Contractors Association is a trade association in the United States that represents the $130 billion/year electrical contracting industry. NECA supports the businesses that bring power, light, and communication technology to buildings and communities
The Illinois Institute of Technology NECA Student Chapter is an organization that helps build interest in the electrical construction industry and gives those students an opportunity to learn about and interact with NECA representatives in the Chicagoland area and some of the exciting and challenging work they are involved in. Electrical contractors in Chicago are always in search of the best and brightest construction management interns and graduates to the electrical construction industry. The NECA IIT chapter has annually competed against other Universities across the country in NECA's annual "Green Energy Challenge Competition" and have won many awards along the way, including Chapter of the Year in 2018.
Mission Statement
The NECA student chapter at the Illinois Institute of Technology harnesses opportunities to engage engineers, designers, contractors, builders and community members in energy conscious design through education of green energy and sustainable solutions. We implement an integrated design process in order to conceive logical and feasible energy efficient solutions.
